SOCIALISM VERSUS CAPITALISM
I think those Wall Street idiots still with nine to five jobs should along with what’s left of the Republican Party should shut up. Capitalism as promoted and practiced by these jerk offs has resulted in such a huge global recession that it will not be months before a turnaround, it will be years. Now most western countries have invested in financial institutions and become major stockholders we need to get used to the fact the only way we can move forward and prosper is by government truly taking a day to day interest in it investments. The first thing I would do to expose the corruption that put us into this situation is to immediately call upon the Justice department to prosecute every dirt bag that received bonuses in excess of their salaries, seek full restitution of their ill gotten gains and then jail them all.
If Dennis Koslowski of Tyco fame can spend eight years in jail for plundering his company’s coffers, and Jeffrey Skilling can serve twenty-five years for the Enron fiasco, then starting with Richard Fuld Jnr ex CEO of Lehman Brothers all Wall Streeters should face trials and when convicted should receive minimum life sentences with hard labor. I would love to see Fuld in an orange uniform performing daily duties like breaking rocks or cleaning out the wardens’ latrines. Alan Swartz, ex CEO of Bear Sterns, should be removed immediately from his big house in the Hamptons and transferred to the Big House at Leavenworth to await trial for treason and grand larceny.
The rhetoric of loser McCain during his unsuccessful bid to become President, in proclaiming, “Obama is about sharing wealth and I’m about creating wealth” becomes the mantra of his successors, then the GOP is doomed to oblivion. The price America will be paying over the next twenty years to bail out capitalism and ensure wealth is fairly shared is so huge that the mind boggles whether the task will ever be completed. The United States consolidated national debt together with what it has taken on in toxic financial institution debt exceeds $400,000 for every man, woman and child. Under communism, the Soviet Union never had to contend with this sort of debt as it grew to become a super power.
What the world needs now is socialism and plenty of it (through complete regulation and part ownership of money banking and finance) and private enterprise working hand in hand. We can never allow greedy, narcissistic scum bags of Wall Street fame to ever to play any major role in society again. Our universities need to rethink their curricula and place more emphasis on governance in business than teaching people how to become swindlers.
