SADLY NO SIGNS OF LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
Once upon a time it was public sentiment talking up or down on the economy that could affect the mood of the country. However this time Bush/Cheney truly wanted to leave us with their magnificent legacy and unfortunately the next two generations will be heavily paying the price for their good work. Thank goodness we have a young statesman in the White House ably supported by a seasoned lieutenant, instead of that nasty, geriatric and very angry Mr McCain and Trip’s grandmother from Alaska running the country. Ironically we need hope and plenty of it to cling to as much as anything else as each one of us face these uncertain times.
Yes, this recession is global, but I disagree with the experts that the solutions must be global. This is the time when we need to look within and work on the principle, charity begins at home. Right now we do not have the resources to continue looking after the rest of the world and quite frankly with our popularity around the globe having hit new lows under the last administration, we can quietly concentrate on repairing America. I do feel badly for poor third world nations’ economies becoming more desperate, but let Russia, India and China (and experts in knowing what poverty is all about) with their new found wealth open their check books and help. Why does it always have to be America?
