REALLY, WHO ARE OUR FRIENDS?
In reality, the world only wants to suck off the United States in one sided trade deals. Here we have half of Mexico’s population supported by illegal immigrants and residents of Mexican origin and when we decide that we wish to cancel the pilot program of in the main poorly maintained Mexican trucks polluting our country delivering Mexican made goods they slap tariffs on ninety American industrial and agricultural products. We know what else will happen too if the program had gone ahead. Those Mexican truckers will be just like the typical illegal resident Mexican gardeners in California where they progressively stole and shut out the lawn mowing/weeding business from Japanese-American nurserymen and enterprising teenage boys. There is no question the Mexican trucks will have ended up staying in America “hijacking” loads within the 48 contiguous states from reputable American trucking companies. Living in the cab of a truck 24/7, fifty-two weeks a year in America is luxurious when compared to the conditions back home. Even America tacos and burritos taste better! Mexico has just shown again what it thinks of America with its current actions. They have always considered us a bunch of idiots ripe for the plucking.
Over to China and Coca Cola received the thumbs down from the Chinese government to take over fruit juice company China Huiyan. It is good news for America as we would have seen cheap Chinese-made fruit juices enter America and put the nail in the coffin for Florida orchardists. The world’s largest dairy company, Fonterra of N.Z. learned a bitter lesson when they bought into a Chinese dairy company. The baby milk powder they were producing in China was from watered down milk spiced up with melamine to give the supposed same protein content. China’s reaction was to shut the company down for which Fonterra lost its $300 million investment. Coca Cola’s bid was for a full takeover but now it’s back to the drawing board. Just a thought for the Chairman CEO of Coca Cola; there are several Central American countries, great producers of citrus really economically hurting right now. If Florida orange juice is no longer the answer, as an expert in exploitation, why not screw Central America? Are you aware very few foreign companies have ever made any money setting up industries to serve the local Chinese population and don’t you understand you are dealing with a rogue country with a corrupt government?
Our friends continue for the moment to be former Soviet states out of favor with Russia who look to us as their savior. At least a few of these showed support for America by accepting ex-President Bush’s invitation to send their young soldiers into Iraq and Afghanistan. Now the current administration wants to mend fences with arch enemy, Russia, the casualty will be those emerging independent countries who for decades suffered huge hardship under successive Moscow communist regimes, being thrown back to the wolves.
As far as I can see, the European Union (excluding Great Britain) is not very happy with America. Wall Street also sold a bill of goods to just about every major bank there and most now are as bankrupt as Citibank. We are just learning that much of AIG’s bailout money is heading their way through the credit default swaps insurance they took out. The tax payers of America again have been double whammied.
So my case for a little protectionism and showing some muscle makes good sense, otherwise we might as well shut down the country now and hand it over to China. This nonsense diplomatic policy of the past thirty-five years of constantly engaging in meaningful talks around the world just continues in assisting in the decline of America.
