International Diplomacy – What a JOKE!

I think the United States of America has its head in the clouds when it comes this current administration’s handling of international affairs. Firstly I thought the deal to invade Afghanistan was to root out Bin Laden and here we are seven years later, still no sign of which rat hole he is hiding in and now we are stuck there literally forever after creating another needless civil war. This country has been a basket case for centuries. It is full of tribes now headed by poppy growing warlords who have been beating up one another for the past 4,000 years! The opium business has been booming since America replaced the presence of the old Soviet Union. So much for our war on drugs or terror for that matter! Iraq will go down as the dumbest mistake America has made since the founding fathers created our great nation.

Don’t tell me one of the most impoverished countries on earth, North Korea is a threat. And the same goes for Iran. It is run, like Iraq was, by a bunch of self-promoting posturing “nut-cases” as is the case in Venezuela, Zimbabwe, and any other den of ignorant, hapless, helpless peoples around the globe. Democracy may work in the top twenty nations of the first world, but it is certainly not the answer for the rest. The media’s love affair with India and China tells us one story, when after Russia, as far as I am concerned, these two countries rank (using any measuring rod you want) as the most corrupt on earth. Our true enemies are in fact these three nations, with Russia and China being of higher rogue status. Here we are selling ourselves to the devil by allowing China and India to become our only source of supply for so much of our manufactured goods only to allow them in return to “spit in our faces”. At what expense I might add? The declining living standard of every working American.

I am not interested in globalization when it means that the wealth created goes straight to those greedy Fortune 500 companies and a few corrupt officials and entrepreneurs in these third world countries. Walk the dark alleys of Mumbai as it is now known and ask the street people if their lives have been changed. Ask a local in China if his bicycle now has gears and a brake that works. The lot of the average “Joe Hunt” of the third world has seen few benefits since we have all been forced to become kissing cousins.

For me, I am not interested in America selling democracy, I am not interested in seeing a few greedy dirt bags getting rich exporting our labor, I am not interested in sucking up and propping up relations with sworn enemies.  I am not interested in the political correctness, gone crazy, which avoids us telling the truth. With the exception of Great Britain, Australia and one or two other countries, I have no time at all for the likes of France, Germany and other nations that should know better are continually stabbing us in the back. Mr Bush has made us a laughing stock to all but a few strong allies.

My answer is; let’s return to reality and tell it like it really is; just like in the good old days of the cold war. I bet if Reagan, when visiting West Berlin, hadn’t demanded of the last Soviet leader, “Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall”, those poor East Germans would still be living in squalor with the lucky few driving their Trabant cars! Unless our diplomacy contributes to help making the world a better place, let’s not waste our time. In my opinion if I were the incoming President, I would immediately sort out who are our friends and who are our enemies. Yes, make it black and white and not shade everything gray. My argument is we have as little to do as possible with our foes and we nurture our relationship with our friends. Tell China, we don’t need their in the main poorly made junk and say to India, we are quite capable of manning our customer service phones in America. Using this as a base for diplomacy, our enemies would be pushing our doors down to become our mates!
