AMERICA, STOP WORSHIPPING FALSE GODS!
Donald Trump is embroiled in lawsuits with just about every project his name is involved in. People who believed in his shtick, that his name represents quality, have invested by the thousands to lodge deposits in developments that bear his name but which he has little or no financial involvement in. Developers pay him a royalty in the belief they can con unsuspecting investors and unfortunately, until now, it has worked for them. Depending on who you believe, Timothy O’Brien a N.Y. Times editor who wrote a biography of Trump claiming his net worth is a mere $150 million (I believe him) or Donald Trump, himself, who states his fortune sits at a minimum $6 billion, true mystery surrounds what his personal bank balance is. Of course, Trump being the tireless litigant he is, is suing O’Brien in the “$billions” for defamation.
To the outside world, Trump is a crass example of all that is wrong with capitalism, and America’s image suffers accordingly. This guy along with many other greedy, ego-maniacal dirt bags (mainly from Wall Street) I have mentioned in previous blogs have done irreparable harm to our country’s standing in the eyes of the rest of the world. Little wonder China over the past couple of years has been able to slip under the radar and enter the African and South American continents and take control of their mineral wealth. If Wall Street had embarked on such a course, the hue and cry would have had every international court condemning the move and probably blocking it altogether.
If I see that worn out, bald headed, octogenarian, geriatric ugly old git, former G.E. CEO Jack Welch expounding his views as the guru on what America should be doing, I’ll throw up! This man has the morals (as his ex-wife pointed out in the divorce court soon after his retirement from G.E.) of those filthy, pedophile convicted former Catholic priests! He had his chances to retire and fade away into the sunset, but no, his ego wouldn’t allow him. After the world now knowing for years how this pathetic example of a man conducted his life, why do the media give still give him so much credibility? Mind you with likes of that low-life Rupert Murdoch in the chair of News Corp/Fox, it helps explain it.
America does have heroes who wake up each day who set out to accomplish good and they succeed. The Shriver family, led by family patriarch Sergeant Shriver, for over forty years has been the force behind the Special Olympics, yet how much do we hear of this family devoted to making a better world? Very little. Cory Booker, the current Mayor of Newark, is an exceptional human being, achieving all sorts of positive results tackling crime, drugs and poverty in a formerly ravaged and decaying community. His name has never hit the headlines. Companies, like hundred plus years old, Lincoln Electric, selling welding machines to a saturated global market. This company is not only the technological leader, over its life time it has without fail always done the right thing by its customers, suppliers but moreover its workforce. The core of its business is still in America and its soul is about being American. Look at all those corporate gangsters who over the past twenty years have exported jobs by the tens of millions, then taken tens of $millions per year in bonuses. Lincoln is still the world leader and never once has it compromised on its integrity!
Against all odds, I still live in hope goodness will win over evil and a start could be for us to stop worshiping false Gods!
