THE WARMONGERS WIN AGAIN

Hey Mr President, you’ve caved in again! This time it is to your good “buddies” such as that angry, hobbling short-ass opponent in the last election, John “you’ve done it again” McCain, the defense contractor lobbyists and the Pentagon. You can pay a Blackwater mercenary a hundred grand or so to fart around in Afghanistan and Iraq, while an American hero soldier earns fifteen grand and with the result most return worse off than when they left; either dead, maimed for life or psychologically damaged. In the meantime more mine friendly Hummers are made, helicopters are still be turned out by the thousands, and repairs and maintenance costs of existing equipment continue to go through the roof. No-one is interested in the surge, we want out of there.

To me Iraq and Afghanistan is not about terrorism or freeing people, it is all about pandering to special interests that profit from America at war. If we spent money on Drones protecting our own borders and shoved very suspicious Muslim living here legally or illegally back to whence they came, we need not worry about terrorism. The deal is easy; give Israel the tools and support and get the hell out of the Middle East and South Asia. We will never make friends of all those countries because they will always think of us as the infidels. When we are off their turf, then they can get back to doing what they love doing best, fighting amongst themselves, just as they have done for the last thousand odd years.

President Obama, I thought you were a great listener and a man blessed with common sense. I am beginning to think you possess neither quality. If common sense had prevailed, you would have listened to the voices of the vast majority of Americans and done what President Nixon achieved with Vietnam, got our country out of those hell holes. No, you preferred to pander to the special interest groups. At the end of the day, you are just perpetuating exactly what the worst duo of leaders in American history , Bush and Cheney gave to America, wars we cannot win but will only serve to destroy the economic and political might of our great country.
