IT HAS BEEN A DOWNWARD SPIRAL FOR SOUTH AFRICA SINCE 1994

While the story of imprisoned Nelson Mandela is a heart rendering one against the backdrop of an Apartheid regime that kept him jailed and South Africa isolated from the rest of the world for thirty odd years, the simple fact of the matter the now ANC ruled country has ended up a basket-case like all its African sister countries. There is more hype surrounding Mandela’s achievements than reality. Basically the ANC is a Communist organization still run by a mob of corrupt and anti-social thugs. The last two Presidents since Mandela’s retirement have risen through the ranks over the last fifty years to keep the ANC’s agenda alive and well.

For fifteen years, the country which received the blessings of the world to improve the lot of nearly forty million blacks has been in rapid decline. HIV/Aids ravage the country and the economy has moved to the levels similar to those of banana republics. Poverty has continued to grow and jobs have continued to shrink. Like every other former British colony on the African continent, hope was high that with independence and majority rule, South Africa’s fortunes would soar under Mandela and his successors.

President Mandela’s former wife Winnie early on made Mandela appear foolish with her continued thuggish and boorish behavior, but it set the course that South Africa leadership has followed to this day. There was Mbeki, Mandela’s successor, who refused overseas help to combat the HIV/Aids epidemic because he denied it existed in South Africa. Today over five million are infected more than any other country in the world. Last year Mbeki was toppled from power by his deputy Jacob Zuma, who has a rap sheet that would make a Mexican mafia member look like a saint.

Last week it was exposed that even though the sixty-seven year old leader has three wives and two more fiancées, he has just fathered a 20th child to the daughter of the head of South Africa’s 2010 World Cup organizing committee. While he may say as a Zulu, he is just practicing his culture, the message he sends to forty million blacks 20% already HIV/Aids infected that enjoying unprotected sex with multiple partners is quite okay. There is a saying “according to the laws of the jungle” ….. Maybe that is how South Africa has been ruled for the last fifteen years. The proof is the rapid decline of a country once rich in natural resources with a sophisticated infrastructure.
