Last week’s meeting in Washington between Presidents Obama and Karzai brought home to me the hypocrisy of modern day politics and diplomacy. On his own turf Karzai has acted with the same zealousness in his condemnation of America as that psycho idiot from Iran, Ahmadinejad. What has Afghanistan got what we need? Poppies? Bin Laden? At least Iran has oil and is supplying our greatest enemy, China. It is also now a nuclear power. If there is one country we should closely follow and attempt to destabilize at every opportunity, it is Iran. We are aware that the country is teetering on another revolution to bring it back out of the dark ages and the student unrest there is leading the confrontation against with the religious establishment. Just like we have done with Central and South America, we could fund and arm the antagonists in Iran and Ahmadinejad would be racing to France for asylum in no time at all. The result would be great for Middle East peace and once again we would have our traditional source of oil supply returned to us. It is a win/win.

By contrast there is nothing but lose/lose courting Karzai and his bunch corrupt thugs. For me all this war has done has cost us valuable lives of brave young soldiers and lowered the street price of heroin to compete against crack as the drug of choice for addicts. We don’t really know who our enemy in Afghanistan is, as experts now tell us Al Qaeda jumped across the border to reside in Pakistan. At the beginning of the war it was all about flushing out bin Laden and his fellow cave dwellers. With this as the goal I was under the impression the Taliban came over to our side because the equal disdain for this mutual enemy. Today the Taliban is claiming responsibility for all sorts of acts of violence against our soldiers in Afghanistan.

The reason for Karzai’s visit was nothing short of a mission of blackmail. The sole purpose of his trip was to demand more cash and if he didn’t get it then he would be “forced” to surrender to the Taliban. This man is the best friend of the war lords who control Afghanistan’s only industry; black tar. Some knowledgeable individuals say Karzai and his family are the biggest traders of the drug to the western world and have been for decades. My argument is who cares about the Taliban? They are not international terrorists and it appears few Muslims outside of Afghanistan have ever supported their cause. Karzai, sorry mate, if I were the President of USA, I would immediately order the troops back home, let the civil war begin and may the best man win. Afghanistan is of no value whatsoever and as much as I hate the human rights that exist there, let the Europeans (Europe is all but a close neighbor) become advisors/policemen. I then would redirect all the drones into blowing the Pakistani border into oblivion so every last vestige of Al Qaeda is eradicated. Immediately after that I would quit and let that other arch enemy of ours, Pakistan pick up the pieces. Without Al Qaeda, Pakistan is no threat because they are so pre-occupied with the possibility of an attack from India.

I’ve said it before; America has to sort out who are our real enemies. It certainly is not North Korea or Iran; they are China, Russia and India in that order. They want to see an economically weak and universally unpopular America so they can wield their own influence upon the world. We are slowly being sucked into that web. It is called globalization. The sad thing is it is the American multinational corporations who are effectively sponsoring it. Unfortunately we do have traitors in our camp.

We are wasting huge resources, especially American lives, maintaining a military presence in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Middle East has been a basket case since the fall of the Ottoman Empire nearly 100 years ago. The States could remain in the region for the next five hundred years and still achieve nothing. Every country of the Muslim world is rancid with corruption and double dealing. President Obama, like his predecessor thinks one solution to control Al Qaeda and the Taliban is by propping up Pakistan. For twenty years we have been handing $billions upon $billions to a military dictatorship (the current President is just a puppet) that is nothing but an enemy as big as Iran. The Pakistani military provide not only training for the terrorist groups but also arms. On the one hand they will send a couple of armored jeeps deep into Al Qaeda territory with mounted cameras to send pictures back to America showing how they are cracking down on the terrorist cells while at the same time they are aiding, abetting and helping train these filthy thugs of the first order. Pakistan, because of it historical ties to Great Britain can have these evil cowards trained up and sent to Europe with little difficulty ready to wreak havoc upon us.

While our war mongering military leaders want to increase our military presence in Afghanistan (they no longer do the same for Iraq, because the fact is it is a lost cause) all the other expert observers are telling us to hold off. This is why President Obama is in a quandary and appears to be sitting on his hands. Why can’t he realize the Middle East is full of double dealers totally adept at the art of deception? The fanatical Muslims even hate their own more moderate brethren. That influence is already destabilizing the more progressive Muslim countries and they literally are constantly living in fear of an “Iran type revolution” taking place within their borders.

Most Muslim countries have difficulty coming to grips with those extremists demanding to turn back the clock of civilization a thousand years let alone America trying to convince them it is all about freedom and democracy. We are square peg in the Middle East being forced into a round hole. The only answer to sort out terrorism and fanaticism is to invest heavily in Israel who know exactly what is going on with their neighbors. A hugely strong Israel will create a “balance of power” situation similar to the Cold War theory with the Soviet Union, which worked. The next is to pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan altogether and let civil wars take place there where the best man wins. Every fanatical Muslim terrorist will have a new raison d’être and America will immediately fall off their radar screens. The Taliban did a great job in getting rid of the drug lords amongst other things in Afghanistan. Fanatics have had a great time over the last twenty years screwing up Pakistan. Iraq was actually quite a stable country in many ways when Saddam Hussein was around. If you judge what goes on in the Middle East by our standards the situation is quite abhorrent, but listen when you’re looking at peoples who want to return to the Dark Ages as quickly as possible and you attempt to walk a mile in their moccasins, there is some sense to their behavior.

My belief is let them battle it out amongst themselves for the next thousand years. In the meantime we may be able to get on with our own lives and concentrate dealing with the menace of India and China!

There is no question the two wars we are engaged in are taking a huge toll upon our resources not only in monetary costs but worse still in human terms. Just as was the case with Vietnam, our soldiers so often cannot determine friend from foe in Afghanistan and Iraq. As they enter a village, the red carpet is laid out and as they are about to leave they are shot in the back by the very villagers who had earlier welcomed them. The enemy resorts to every dirty trick in the terrorists’ jihad book. Sadly, in many respects, the lucky American soldiers are the ones we bring home in body bags to bury because as for the others, if they are not maimed for life, most are suffering from debilitating psychological illnesses and are ill-equipped to cope with civilian life once they leave the forces.

I couldn’t think of nicer people than the populaces of those two hell holes to be at war with one another. I cannot determine who is worse in Afghanistan, the Taliban or the corrupt Karsai government? As for Iraq, there are three warring factions and what better than having these three branches of Islam fighting a Holy War amongst one another? I know with the Holy Jihad, every man who gives his life to the cause ends up in heaven with seventy-two vestal virgins. That of course is one huge incentive for the Muslims to keep America engaged in Iraq and Afghanistan, but why do we have to buy into it? Thanks to Russia and China everyone in those regions have access to unlimited volumes of armaments. By America withdrawing altogether, China and Russia will have to choose sides and as they are both unbelievers, the Taliban, Al Quaeda and every other Muslim terrorist group can retain their dream of exterminating every infidel in their sights!

President Obama, stop listening to your war-mongering generals. Bring our boys back home right away. Hundreds of thousands of our finest young men are engaged in a war in which the stakes are of no consequence or value to America. The enemy is not looking for freedom, democracy or catching up with the twenty-first century; they just want to carry on what they have been doing for centuries wallowing in anarchy, ignorance, hatred and poverty. It would make me so happy to see China and Russia in the middle of a hopeless mess instead of being on the sidelines laughing at us!
